First Regional Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. has been honoured by the St. Ann Homecoming and Heritage Foundation for the significant scope of its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) programme which has positively impacted hundreds over the years.
A Citation read and presented to First Regional at the St. Ann Homecoming Heritage Foundation’s 11th Annual Banquet on August 8th praised the Credit Union for its reach and influence through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to facilitate change and improve the welfare of the less fortunate in the important areas of Education, Health and Children’s Welfare.
Specifically, the Foundation lauded First Regional for its annual scholarship awards and tertiary level bursaries through which the Credit Union has enhanced access to education for hundreds. First Regional was also praised for its expansive contributions to various youth programmes and to the health sector which demonstrated its appreciation for the value of human lives.
The Foundation noted that the Award, presented in honour of National Hero, Marcus Garvey was being made to First Regional for its continued initiatives to address social and economic issues through policies that ensure that the communities in which it operates prosper, even as the Credit Union itself thrives.
